FitFlops bought on-line - 8 months old and coming apart!

What are my rights? I bought a pair of FitFlops costing £45 from a company called buycosmetics.com, these were received 27/10/08. They have hardly been worn, except on holiday and the stitching is coming apart on the side of the FitFlop. I have had them for nearly 8 months. I contacted the company and they say that they cannot refund or exchange - they have a policy that items must be returned within 30 days!! Are they saying that as long as my fitflops last 30 days, that is good wear and tear? Should I take this up with the manufactuers of FitFlops? Any help would be appreciated?

I've got some Fitflops that I purchased last year and I wore them loads. I've been wearing them again this year and I am very pleased with how well they have worn. It sounds like you have a faulty pair and if they are faulty, then really the shop you got them from should replace/repair or even refund and they should take it up with the manufacturer. I'd give them another go or even contact Consumer Direct to check your rights.
