tax credit changes

hope you guys can help....i claimed tax credits for me and my partner based on out joint wages of 46,000 for 08/09...this year 09/10 she is on maternity leave and then going back 16hours a week as opposed to 37 and the joint income is reduced to about 27,000...the strange thing is the award seems to be the same...ctc 21 pond a week
how can this be right....??

It is based on 08/09 earning so if your earnings where 46k for 08/09 it is correct. You can ask them to take an estimate rather than actual figures..but be aware you loose the 25k buffer so every £1 you are over paid you will have to pay back,
Best to estimate income then add on £1000 or so to be on safe side..if you are underpaid they will pay you back after final calc has been done when you renew next year
maybe used 'entitled to' or the hmrc calculator but base on the 27k earnings.. if any change then call in.. not too sure what the thresholds are for tax credits etc0 -
with one child, and an income between £25k-£50k you get basic CTC
However, i think when your baby turns 1, your CTC will go down to roughly £10/w
