A couple of bottles of Wolf Blass, Cab Sav. Not too expensive at £8 a bottle when not on special, and recognisable enough as not a £2.99 bottle."On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." Banrock Station is becoming very popular these days. Also white zinfandel seems to be very in and is a rose wine. My daughters, both teachers, drink that and in fact I have just got 3 boxes of it this morning for eldest who is a head teacher for their staff party as most of staff like that! It is on offer for 9.99 for 3ltr box in Morrisons.0

As a teacher myself, you don't expect anything big if at all - the most meanigful presents i've had have something to keep aspart of them - at Christmas, I got a mug from Tesco filled with some chocolates from a box - use the mug everyday I'm in!! Also had several candles with nice holders. This way, I enjoy the treat and have something to rememebr the kid by as well! I always give the kids in my class a treat as well - at christmas they got a wee goodie bag ( think along the lines of party bags - making 25 can add up!) and whoever gives a present aALWAYS:j I feel I am diagonally parked in a parallel universe :j0

I must admit to regularly falling back to wine as a gift in both personal and business situations.. whether it be £4 or £8 ( very rare to spend more than £8per bottle unless champers or fortified ) and sometimes by the case..( even if in a cardboard box) but I've never ever given a winebox .. not sure it would come across rightAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -
If you really want to buy an expensive wine then Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a lovely red. http://www.waitrosewine.com/230430377/Product.aspx0

I'm giving the wine to her from myself as i have had a lot of dealings with her this year due to my son not settling in to well as he didnt want me to leave him everyday. Now my son loves going to school because of her.is giving wine from an child to a adult appropriate?

you could make her a goody bag - wine, chocs, stuff for the bath etc?
just to echo some sentiments from earlier in the thread, I'm a teacher (albeit newly qualified), and it's the fact that someone has thought of you that means more rather than the value of the gift itself.
Something i saw done for another teacher which i thought was a wonderful idea was a present from oxfam unwrapped. depending on what you want to spend, you can pay for school dinners, pay to train a teacher, buy a school desk and chair, build a school etc for an underpriviledge community in the third or developing world.know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...0
