housing advise

my daughter has now got asthma & has to sleep in my room & I have been to the council and they have put me on a higher band- but its still a low band (C) this is no way ideal.
I am on the house exchange but as I am in a flat no one wants to exchange with me.
I have looked into renting privatly but nothing that is close to the school.
how do I keep pursuing this- has any one else had the same housing issue?
any advise please.
regards

Hi GS - how about looking on Gumtree website, they will prob have a section for your area, where maybe you can exchange for a suitable place - good luck to you both.

Ring shelter and have a chat with them to see if they have any advice to offer.

Also try the local MP as sometimes they can help
  • i have gone down that route but the council just write standard letters back.

Keep your eye on private rentals, things are coming up all the time... maybe register your interest with a few agencies?
