No. It seems this competition is exempt from normal forum rules. I don't see why the poster can't just put CASH in the title when they don't know how much it will be. Rather than be sarcastic to katchambers or anyone else who asks a perfectly legitimate question. The poster is the only one allowed to post the competition even though they are not at home when the programme is on.And anyone who tries to help gets slated. They are also exempt from having to do searches and don't get told off for duplicating posts (as lots of others do). This is not an attack on the OP (I'm grateful for all competitions she posts) but more about the reaction by people if anyone dares to question a post.
Rant over, I've needed to get this off my chest since Dalkirst had a go at me for trying to help out.

How rude, if you are that bothered why not just enter the competition yourself. Everyone knows that this comp is posted daily by catowen, something she does for the benfit of all of us. 15 minutes wait is not an issue it is open for a week after all. Everyone also knows that Real Deal is cash prize of £1000 to £3000. Those that dont soon learn, I did, or they should read the comping guide.

If you have an issue with Dalkirst or anyone else put your dummy back in and PM them and sort it out

Thanks for posting the comp, as always, cat. Your time and effort is much appreciated.

I'm sure if some of us come across as a bit grumpy at times it's not really meant nastily. If it is, it's not worth taking notice of.

(Apologies Al Mac, I didn't mean you ......honest!)

I've been known to be a bit snappy with someone who's posted one of your comps - if I'd stopped and thought I might have phrased things better.

The rest of us appreciate you, honest.

Whoa what's happened today, this is normally such a friendly board.

Let's all look at ourselves to see what lessons can be learnt instead of retaliating.

Please let this go and let mine be the last post in this thread.

    Love and Hugs to all

Wow, can't believe something that I said caused all this!!!!

I am very sorry, firstly, thanks to Gollum for sticking up for me, thats very nice, secondly, thanks to Cat for posting in the first place, I am sorry if you think I was rude, I did not mean to be rude, I simply came across the post for Real Deal prize, and since I have no idea what Real Deal is I said, what is the prize as its not in the ops listing and its not on the website. I didn't want to enter into a competition for a prize I didn't want, as in the comping guide, which I have actually read twice, it says that you shouldn't really enter for prizes you don't want as it stops other people from getting their dream prizes.

I have read the comping guide twice, it is very, very long so I am sorry if I didn't notice that real deal (whatever that is) has a daily cash prize and that only one person is allowed to post that competition. I would prefer it if all of the people who said "everyone knows its a cash prize" and "everyone knows that cat posts this comp" would refrain from saying 'everyone knows' because it does make me feel stupid, especially as I have read the comping guide, and I am not exactly a newbie either. I am only asking nicely, I have been comping on and off for a few years, so maybe I don't do it enough to notice all the etiquette.

To be honest, I don't actually even look at the person who posts a competition, I always say thanks but I hadn't noticed that one person was in charge of a certain competition, are we all supposed to notice the names of the posters and which ones are recurring? I think thats a lot to ask for really. I do always say thank you, but I have to admit I don't look at the posters names. I also found out the hard way when I tried to post a loose women cash prize that I saw on tv yesterday, my post was merged, which is fine, I was beaten to it, but then someone said that the same person always posts that comp, which is fine, but I didn't know that and I was only trying to be helpful. In the comp guide it says we should try to give back to the forum by posting our own comps, so thats what I try to do, but I am always beaten to the punch, which is fine, but I would prefer if people were nicer about it.

Anyway, to summarise, I am very grateful to cat for always posting these cash prizes, I didn't know you did them all, now I know, and I am sorry for sounding rude to you, I never intended that, it was just an innocent question.

I am sorry that there are things I SHOULD know but don't, I am sure I will learn in time. :o I am very, very grateful to all the people who post competitions it really is appreciated. :T

Thanks katchambers for posting, and hopefully this will be the end of the disscussion now!

I would just like to add that i DO NOT have the right to post all the comps that i do, or anyone on here. However, if it was a 'free for all' and 'lets see who can get there first', then there would be a lot of duplicates, which in turn, make a lot of work fo the board guides, and also some people could end up entering a competition twice because they didnt realise they had already entered it. The comps i post, as i put earlier are normally (because not all are) live on the tv, so if 10 people are watching, and they all decide to post at the same time, then that would be a lot of work and a bit silly really, which is why you will find on any posts other than mine, people will put 'catowen normally posts these' because if everyone (or the majority at least) know that i am going to be posting it, even if some days im a little late, then that saves on all the dups and merges.
Hopefully, that clears it up a bit (or i might have made it as clear as mud!!) i know this will come up again, as new people join the forum, its just this time, i found gollums post quite insulting, especially as after re reading it and others comments since, he was angry about something else that had happened, and used this thread as an excuss to vent his feelings.

As i said, hopefully this draws a line under it all, and happy comping everyone!!!

I wish they'd never posted that "Comping for Cash" article - I've just about had my fill of newbies posting to say thanks, and ones that can't work out from previous posts that it's a cash prize for chrissakes.

Newbies, read the comping guide NOW. I know we're supposed to be nice but we say the same thing over and over and get ignored. No wonder we get piddled off. I just want to comp.

Pls be nice to all MoneySavers. There's no such thing as a stupid question, and even if you disagree courtesy helps.
