Moggles funny you should say about halifax, they sent me something the other day about their credit card..
DFH yeah am contemplating writing to Barclaycard again and if nothing else is resolved will write to the ombudsman.
Ben I actually have doen that with Virgin but then after about 6 months they wrote to tell me they were putting the interest back up again or I could stick to the same rate and cancel the card..obviously the card is now cancelled and I'm just having to pay it off!0 -
There is no case for the FOS to investigate. You know it, they know it and Barclaycard know it as well. Making hollow threats will not improve your chances of working something out. If you have never missed a payment or exceeded your limit in the past they may be prepared to compromise. If you have a record of a badly managed account I do not see what there is to complain about.Amylibby28 wrote: »DFH yeah am contemplating writing to Barclaycard again and if nothing else is resolved will write to the ombudsman.

Thanks for that decidedly unhelpful reply. If you had read my post, you would have noted that I had only exceeded the limit once and previously had always paid on time. I'm not planning on threatening Barclaycard with going to the ombudsman but if I cannot resolve this via barclaycard then I do want to try and resolve it. I don't see any other option at present?0

I do not think that was an unhelpful reply, just an honest one and one you do not want to hear.
You have exceeded your limit and that is considered very, very serious, (it indicates a lack of control and financial problems, even a possible financial meltdown in the near future). Far more serious than being a day or two late with a payment.
Nobody (neither you nor the Ombudsman) can force Barclaycard to reinstate a particular promotional deal. Whether you like it or not, you are no longer considered a good risk.0 -
Bengal-Stripe it's not a case of not wanting to hear it, I fully understand what I have done and I know full well that I should not have exceeded my credit limit. I'm on here asking for help though. Someone being blunt and quite frankly rude in a response, doesn't help my situation. Thanks for your feedback though.0
