Ive had some problems burning my documents to a DVDR - Im getting an error 0x8007054F. When I googled that error code it seems there is a registry problem. A further bit of googling gives a site for Reg Cure. I downloaded the program and ran it and it comes up with over a thousand registry errors

It says I can pay to remove them - is it a safe program or is there anything else I can do please guys?

I really wouldnt if I were you

Download CCLEANER (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION' ~ make sure YAHOO TOOLBAR is unticked on installation)
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/
Run the CLEANER scan (UNTICK 'cookies')
Then run the REGISTRY scan (Backup the registry when it asks)

I dont think its a registry problem anyways. More the dvd player needs updated firmware, the program your using is at fault or you need better quality discs

    CCleaner is a good product.

RegCure is also not bad but not as good as the above. I've never had any problems with either.

Hi, I used CCleaner yesterday. The puter is only about 8 months old.

Im using a DVDR because I have 2.6 GB of docs to copy and the DVDR has 4.7 GB- the CDRW I usually use has only 700 MB of space. Can you get them with more space please?

Paid £25 to Reg Cure. As far as I am concerned it showed 300 faults that did not exist so did not fix. Refused refund by them.

Ive just run CCleaner again and chosen registry (didnt do that yesterday I realised) It came up with half a dozen faults which I have asked it to fix. Still cant burn the docs so Im thinking a problem with the DVD disk

Thanks for saving me the money on reg cure.

registry 'cures' simply delete problems they find. MOST are very dangerous and can seriously damage the operating system. EVERY time you run a registry scan you put your computer at rick. CCLEANER is the safest I know of. It has on occasion removed things it shouldnt but certainly nothing major so id class it as safe to use.

I'll recommend CCleaner too but no other reg cleaners.

Also try updating dvd driver or uninstalling and rebooting and it'll run the new hardware wizard.

Have you burnt a DVD before? Do you have a DVD burner?

Hi, Ive used CDRW before for copying my documents (I use the puter for my work) and had no probs. This time I tried using DVDR (which to be honest I nicked off son) because they have so much more capacity. Oh yes, I have DVD burner :)
