Firefox deleted my bookmarks!!

Booted up my PC this morning. Connected to the internet like I do everyday. Loaded up Firefox and WHAM! All my bookmarks have disappeared along with my browsing history. All the extensions are still intact but my search engines have gone too!

Anyone seen this before and know how to sort it?

it's always wise to make a back up for firefox (bookmarks)and some times rebooting your pc will get them back it happens to me about once every 3 month

You should be able to find a backup of your bookmarks here:

C:\Documents and Settings\[Your Windows Account Login Name]\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\[Your Firefox Profile - a combination of 8 letters and numbers].default\bookmarkbackups

Not sure about the search engine and history.

Have you recently installed new software?

You could try a system restore, assuming you're using XP.

Excellent! Found the backup bookmarks. Now how do I restore them onto Firefox?

Go to Bookmars menu
then Manage Bookmarks

Then from the Bookmarks window that appears select
File then Import

You can then select 'From File' and show it where the bookmark backup is
