Hey Suep, I was going to buy a tin form the poundshop, but figured that's a pound I could save instead!
So I've made one from an old jar with a LOT of tape over it. Just left a little gap to allow money and suggestions to go in. Doesn't look very pretty, but does the job!
Also, wrapped some paper round the outside. Put 'DEBT FREE REWARD' on it and will also use it to mark off my debt as it goes down.NOW DEBT FREE :jNEW FINANCIAL GOALSCAR COSTS POT : £0.00/£550.00________ REGULAR COSTS POT : £0.00/£396.25£3K BEFORE 30 : £0.00/£3000.00_______£200 HOLIDAY FUNDS BY 2012 : £0.00/£200.000 -
Hi Roxiepie and all!
I think this is a great idea. Only thing is, I'm not sure I can afford it on my tight budget. I'll have to think about it. Mine would probably only be 1% of payment a month, which will be £400 from September onwards so £4 a month for 37months and that would only equate to £148.
How depressing. I'll come back to you.

£148 is a pretty big treat, you could even go lower for the moment, and perhaps increase it once you're nearer your debt free date. Eg for now you could put away £1 for every £200 or £400 you pay off. But later you could do £1 for every £50.
Even a £30 treat will seem lovely when you've been scrimping for so long - especially if it's something deliciously frivolous.

As Slig says even 10p is great and maybe you could increase in increments ...................biiiiiigggggg word for a friday, every time you reach a milestone.
And treats can be anything................£ 30 will get you a manicure or pedicure or facial, cos they go by the wayside when you have debts don't they.Debt Free Diary - Second Chances! Life in a Tourer........Debt free, building a savings pot0 -
True. Or I could buy shoes!!! Or something, not sure yet. And actually spending £148 in one go would be a massive treat. I'm definitely in!:DDEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0
