Dealing with Peverel

Options
Wondering how to deal with Peverel I did a search on here, and am stunned at the extent of the problems which people are having with this dreadful managing agent. There ought to be a law to protect leaseholders in these cases. I have written to the MP and group trying to take action against Peverel in general, but I have a real sick feeling about my own situation.

Is there anything practical you can do - in April I paid £750 out of around £1000 on their March demand, as a gesture while they deal with my enquires about charges (like £500+ a year for water surely is not right) - but they are adding penalty charges and threatening legal proceedings, while ignoring emails letters and calls.

underway, I have just written a letter to all the leaseholders.

Thanks for your interest, especially Barrie and the nice people at the action group / planning watch, feeling pretty motivated to sort this problem out now.

Well my letter to residents and a bit of door knocking has done the trick - sort of !

It turns out another leaseholder had already begun taking interest from people on doing something about this, just that I hadn't got the message. And a couple of the townhousers are keen to take this forward. A meeting is planned for early July.

So, we should have the three needed to form a Residents Association and begin the process of dealing with Peverel formally. Lets hope it carries on from there.

In the meantime, the next time Peverel try to add a charge without a proper response to my enquiries, I think I will put in writing a full and formal account of what has taken place and send it to them Recorded Delivery.
