    Well its any race longer than 26.2 miles, but usually its 50 miles, 100 miles or 50km or 100km - a loooong way anyway ;)

    Well marathons are traditional - though it didn't go all that well for the first bloke...

    But is the 100th mile all the different from the 72nd mile?

    Exactly my point Z - 26.2 miles is a distance you can run all the way for - but it takes training - its impossible to 'run' for 100 miles so whats the point really to them??

    Anyway, just my view - loads of people love them so who I am to judge ;)

    Oh and I always thought story of the first marathon was an accepted myth more than anything...Uk knows about it - hes doing Athens marathon next year actually :D
