How long does Experian take for credit report?

I requested it on Monday and I havent had anything yet. I was advised to do it because I was turned down for a mortgage, so I went to experian website and asked for their free report (the one you do subscription for). I know its only a couple of days but the waiting is killing me because Ive a feeling its something simple that could be put right.

I thought it would be instant but it wasnt, and every time I log in it says its taking longer than they expected to get the info.
I have autistic spectrum disorder which is a social communication disorder so please be patient with me.

Can take 30 days, statutory time limit.

  • Should I have requested the £2 report? Would that have been any quicker?

If I want to send it to appeal against a (mortgage) decision will a print out from the online one do, or should I pay for the £2 paper report as well?

  • Anyone, is there a quicker way???

Have you checked your e-mails? Maybe they're having trouble ID'ing you and require further information/documents?

Re the postal report, I've never had to wait longer than 4-5 working days.

At the end of the day though, Experian are the people you should be asking. It's even an 0800 freephone number isn't it?

If they need to ID you then when you try and log-in it comes up with a page that forces you to read it - you can;t go anywhere else and so have to either read it or close the page.

It tells you what to do and the address to send it in to. Best to try and log-in and then they will see if this is what is wrong.

The postal report can be fast, but the time limit (legally) is 30 days. I get mine within a week as well usually, but that's only cos I get them so frequently they probably have my details to hand (I deal direct with Lee Hancock in Directors office).

How often do you call frequently? £2 a time it all adds up. I should have sent off for my Equifax sooner as im very curious now.

I dont pay - I just email Lee and ask him to send me a copy and he will do. :D Because i've got ID Fraud history they will not allow me access to creditexpert so every now and again I just email and ask for a new version.

I applied for my credit report from Experian a couple of weeks ago. Signed up online, went through alll the usual name, addres etc and at the end I was told there wasn't enough information to identify me. What they do then is post out a PIN number so you can log on to your credit file online. My PIN took 3 working days to arrive. After that I was able to log in no problem. Have to remember to cancel my sub before I start getting charged.
