Hi all,
I'm just wondering whether to get the new software update, I don't have an iphone, just an ipod touch. Is it worth the £5.99? Thanks in advance for your opinions :D

    Already posted about it here.

Apart from anything else, lots of apps will be requiring OS 3, so if you want to use your iPod Touch for anything other than listening to music, yes, it's worth it.

Thanks, did do a search but couldn't find it. Looks like I will be splashing out the £5.99 then!

It does seem alot of touch owners are inadvertantly being able to download the update for free

Well from my nightmare today I would advise everybody to be very cautious.

I paid £5.99 and started the download process got half way through and then everything went dark just as it told me that my ipod would restart and then show up under devices.

I have tried everything but nothing works. Now when I reconect my ipod I get a pop up saying " USB devise not regognised" and apparently it tells me it has malfunctioned.

I called Apple support for all they were worth and was told I would have to take it into an agent or send it to them. Being in Scotland there are hardly any up here and it's going to be extremely difficult for me to reach one. If I send it to Apple she told me it could take 3 - 4 weeks.

AGH Now I wish I had never done it.

I have just paid £5.99 for the privilage of bricking my ipod touch.

It was working perfectly before this.

Just thought I would put on this liitle warning.
