Laptop and DVD / Blu ray

Starting to look at replacing this old lappie with something more up to date.

Seen loads with BluRay. Is it backward compatible with DVD / CDROM?

Most BluRay players are backward compatible with DVD and CD, but not HD-DVD.

Put The Wrong One on My Bad.

Its Says DDR2 But Its Actually DDR3 , Well On Mine It Is lol.

It was well worth it, the screen is crystal clear and with Blu-Ray Its Brilliant.

Blu-Ray is not backwards compatible. To be acurate, you will find that there are two "read" laser heads, one for DVD and one for Blu-Ray.

True. My laptop has got two laser heads on it , funny enough one blue one black. Nothing is backwards compatible really , its just gets made with extra hardware or software to make it support previous versions. e.g playstation 3 - original ones use a hardware chip to play ps2 games where as the newer ones use software emulation to support ps2 games
