How much would be a 'reasonable offer'

I've seen a Fiesta Ghia 06 with 10,797 miles at a main Ford dealer, the ad says make a reasonable offer, it's priced at £6789, I've looked on line and it seems an average price. What would be a reasonable offer? I've a 12 yr old Fiesta with 50,000miles on the clock, in very good condition to part exchange.

Ask him what his best price is and then haggle if you are part exchanging then he won't drop the price as much as if you had no part ex.0

That was one tihng that really got up my nose as a car dealer, so much so that i turned it round to "whats the most you'll give me for it?"
Customer "whats the least you can take for it?"
Me "£5000"
Customer "i'll give you £4000 for it"
There is as much discount on offer whether there is a trade in or not, but often the dealer will add a portion of the discount on to the trade in price to make it more 'palletable' for the buyer.
Theres a lot of people can handle £500 discount and £1000 for their trade in, but say to them £1000 discount and £500 for your trade in and you get "what??? my car is worth FAR more than that"0 -

Why settle for a car at average price?
I've done a quick google and found main dealers with what i assume is the same car (unless the one you are looking at is a diesel) for under £6K
Heres one

Heres one with full leather for a pound more at £5999

I'd say if you approached those dealers you'd get either of them for £5500.
I would print those off and tell your dealer you've rang and both will do theirs for £5500 and ask him can he price match otherwise you'll buy one of those - even if those ones arent local to you i'd prime them over the phone then drive to them.
Also, he'll be passing your car on to a trader for rock bottom price. Assuming your car has 6+ months MOT, then its going to be worth around £650. There are lots around at £700 or so on autotrader, so £750 is the most anyone could ask with a view to taking £650. A trader will be wanting to make at least £300+ on your car, so they'll be offering around £300-£350 for it. If the dealer is offering much more than that, then he is using discount off the car to bolster the price.
So i guess its up to you, trade it in for £350 or so, or advertise it yourself and maybe get £650.0
