You should obviously know about https://www.venere.com - if you're on a budget, you can get a 4% discount on that site with the code: BK5HX8W - you should also find lots of helpful reviews/maps on there too.

    Hope that helps

    Stayed in the Hotel Barbara.

Very interesting. It's just off the Ramblas so really convenient for everything. However...it is in an lively area! By that I mean 24 hour business in the square below. Ladies of the night and all that.

But if you stay together, politely decline any offers, you will not be bothered at all. I went with my husband, we were not intimidated at all, the hotel is fine and clean and safe, in fact the 'entertainment' outside on the square kept us amused for ages. The police are around to keep an eye on things (which they aren't in other areas) so there's no trouble. The hotel reception is locked and manned 24 hours so they let you in as soon as they see you.

Reasonable prices - for the rooms that is, don't know about anything else, sorry.

Another time stayed in the Hotel Constable - ok but boring compared with above.

    I love Barcelona.

  • Have a look on The Guardian online website, there's a section for cities with recommendations on where to stay, eat, visit by people who've recently been there.

    Forgot about the Guardian.

Normally my bible for travel stuff.

Thanks for the replies. I think looking around it might be cheaper to get a cab back to our resort (BLANES)

That is assuming it's less that £50 or 70 euro's
