I totally agree with CIS. When I first started buying on Ebay a few years ago, I used to get a bit annoyed when something arrived and I realised that I had paid a lot more postage than the item actually cost to send. However, now I just look at the the total price for the item and as long as it is still a good price overall I will bid - it doesn't really bother me how much of it is postage and how much is for the item itself. Some sellers advertise their items with a very low starting price such as 1p and put all the rest of the cost on the postage to attract bidders and I don't see anything wrong with this myself.
    Nice to save.

At the end of the day, its the total price that matters.

If an item is £15 in a shop and £10 on Ebay, does it really matter its £5 for the item and £5 postage, or £9 and £1 postage ?, its still only £10.

It matters *unless* you use paypal. If the item gets lost en route and you reclaim from paypal you get the full amount back, if you do an ebay claim and win you only get the item cost back, less £15. So those far East goodies with 1p item cost and £30 post and packing will mean no cover at all for a lot of buyers.

Also, the seller is obviously unaware that when they reclaim for alost parcel from the RM they will also only get item cost back, not postage costs, so in a claim situation you are likely to be faced with a very angry seller who is going to make a big loss and is likely therefore to be less than co operative.
