Repairing a patch on a concrete drive, problems?

Options
I arrived home from work today and a drive-way company had started to dig up my concrete drive (around 4metre square of it) It was a genuine mistake as they were meant to be doing a house ten doors up (even the postman gets the two houses confused, very similar addresses!) The company has offered to cut a straight line across the drive and put fresh concrete down where they have dug it up, thus repairing it. Where the old and new concrete join, will this be a weak point and could water/frost get in to break the drive up, or should this be an okay fix???

If the concrete mix is correct and they add some cementone or similar to it, then it should be fine.

Well lets be honest , that's the minimum they could do ,
My worry , it will be a different colour.
How much drive of the original is there left ??

Just a bit! They have taken about a five foot strip of the drive out of an approx. 25 foot long drive.

Repair they are doing should be fine.

I am not one for excessive compensation, but as you will be losing the use of your drive for a few days maybe a case of wine or a nice bottle of scotch on top as an apology might be reasonable, I would certainly ask! ;)

Incredible. Didn't they think to knock at the door first and say 'we've come to dig your drive up mate'?
