How do I get legal advice?

Hello there, Im completly stressed out and totally at a loss of what to do next. My marriage of 10 years has broke down and obviously Im very unhappy about it but it really is a case of there is no going back.
We have a 9 year old daughter. I am currently still living in the family home as I have nowhere to go. Worse still is I have absolutly no money to be able to leave. We are quite heavily in debt and have no equity in the house. The house and debts are all in my name. My wife wants me to move out but it would be impossible for me to rent somewhere and still pay our huge monthly morgage repayment. She cant work as she is on longterm sickness.
I feel so sad as I feel I am going to have walk away with nothing. I cant even afford to get legal advice. Apparantly I am not eligble for legal aid.
Does anyone have any advice of where I can turn to for help?
Thank you in advance.
Mark

I think you should start at the CAB, if they can't help they may point you in the right direction.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

Yes, go to the CAB, also i think that you could get a free first half hour consultation with a solicitor.
Im sorry i cant be more helpfull, Good luck.0 -
Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0

presumably you have a reasonable income, the reason why you can't get legal aid?
Is bankruptcy an option and might it be worth looking into this?
A solicitor will probably do a half hour free interview. CAB can be very good, but are quite pushed at the moment.
She would probably be offered council housing. Would that be an option? (If I was her, I might, as it would be safe long term cheap housing...) Otherwise, she will get housing benefit to pay rent, but probably not to pay a mortgage, so it doesn't make sense for her to stay in the house.. even though it's the home and she probably has it the way she wants it...0 -
Dont leave your home just yet. Take advice.0

Totally agree with Pssst there. Do not leave your home until you have advice. I would only leave your home if it is so unbearable living there that you fear suffering mental or physical damage.0

First thing to do is to look at the website for an organisation called Resolution, find one of their solicitors in your area and get a free 30 minute interview, or a fixed fee interview or something where the costs aren't going to run away with you. That should give you an idea of your options and you can see where you might go from there.
However, there is never an easy answer if there is not enough money to go round and this is bound to be a difficult time for all of you.
Good luck
