Hi Lisa,
You didn't say for how many people or what type of room.
I have assumed 2 people Double room.
According to Octopus & Otel the following are available;
Jury Inn 3* £213 Including Breakfast
Hyatt Regency 4* £267.50 " "
Please see here:
http://www.octopustravel.com/Home.jsp;jsessionid=0000QPZIzAxE7QxSfwjrq36i-YE:10b4srkej
Ramada Hotel 3* £170 Including Breakfast
As per:
http://www.otel.com/hotelsearch.php?city=Birmingham&chinmonth=4&chinday=7&chinyear=2006&nights=1&roomtype1=Double&roomtype2=&roomtype3=¤cy=GBP&hotelid=&hotelcategory=&hotelarea=&hotelname=
Please note both sites claim to be available and of central location.
I hope this helps you, good luck.

Can you give some more details? How many people is the room for? What do you need to close to in Birmingham? What is your budget?

The prices above seem very steep I have to say. I certainly wouldn't pay rack rate to stay in Brum."There are no pockets in a shroud..."0 -

Lisa Marie. I used to live in Birmingham and I can recommend that you go to the Hagley Road. There are numerous hotels there, mostly catering for commercial travellers, but they vary enormously in quality and price... you are sure to find one to suit. It is about 1 mile outside the city centre but is a continuation of Broad Street, which is the fun Night Spot so you may never need to venture any further.

I couldn't find any available rooms at the Travelodge, Jurys Inn or the Novotel which are all VERY central and would be the ones I would recommend for value. The Ramada in the mailbox is £120 and that is absolutely outrageous for what is a basic hotel. lastminute.com doesn't come up with anything central at all.
The Hagley Road hotels are all a bit dingy for my liking, not far from Central Birmingham but it would be a bit hit and miss with what you get.
I'll have a think, see if i cancome up with anything else

So you're gonna have trouble getting anything at a reasonable price until the last minute - when there may be some cancellations.0 -
I have no idea what this one is like but the rate is good and they appear to have availability

This would be a good bet I think - given the NEC show timing. Reasonable location, good rate. Etap are a cheap and cheerful part of Accor so should be OK.
Incidentally, is this another OP who disappears without trace without acknowleding the suggestions?0
