Car parking in Cockfosters...

Hello!

I've got a course down in London for work at end of this month just for one day. The course is in Russell Square but I was thinking of driving down the night before and staying at my friend's house in King's Cross. I'd rather drive than get the train because that way I'll make a bit of money back on the petrol and I'm not a big fan of trains anyway. I was wondering, is there anywhere on the tube line that's north of London (I'm driving down from Leeds) and on the tube line that I can leave my car overnight and then get the tube in before driving back the next day? Maybe Cockfosters? Does anyone know if there's anywhere free and safe to leave a car around there?

I parked at Cockfosters when I went to watch football and stay overnight and there is a fairly large carpark. I think a lot of people from 'up north' tend to park at stanmore with it being closest to the M1.

Now I'm 31 I've also got to try and not laugh at 'Cockfosters'.
