Clothing bundles on ebay

Think i've just purchased my last ever 'bundle' of kid's clothes on ebay...It appears 75% sellers i've bought off recently are unable to read what size the clothes are on the labels!!!!

I've bought LOADS recently,
A 'lovely bundle of 3 items girls 6-7' turned out to be 1 item age 7-8, one 'size 8' and one with the labels cut out, but probably more age 4-5!

A 'fab bundle of 2 girls dresses age 2-3' one from boots, other brand unknown.
The boots dress is age 2-3, the 'unknown' is primark girl2girl and age 3-4  I know my little girl will grow into it but that's besides the point when i was buying 2 dresses of the same size!!

Another bundle of 30 items size 0-3 months turned out to be mainly newborn size (ok, i know that newborn comes under 0-3, but i deliberatley looked for 0-3 not newborn size as i'm expecting my 4th child, and my 3rd never actually fitted in newborn clothes!!)

I've sold clothes bundles too, but don't see the sense in adding random sizes, and always list exactly whats there, brands etc. It really annoys me when i see a mixed bundle and the seller says 'but these all fit my son at 5' or whatever!! If you are selling a clothing bundle of age 4-5, the items in it should be labelled 4-5!!
If google doesn't know it, how should i?

It is frustrating isn't it. Like you I always try to list things accurately, these people spoil it for all of us. I suppose all you can do is comment in your feedback to warn others in such a way that it won't provoke a negative feedback reaction!!

I sell bundles of children's clothes, sometimes i put say a 3-4 item in a 2-3 bundle but i always state the sizes in my listing and i only do it if say its a small age 3-4 (so would fit a 2-3). I also buy a lot of my daughters clothes from e-bay and also recieve the wrong sizes, i once bid on a dress aged 3 years and when it came it was age 1 year.
  • I hate it when people put the wrong size on stuff on anything from shoes to clothes Ive been there. I bought a bundle of 6-9 months clothes for DD3, I ended up putting most of it back in a bundle of 3-6 months and saying that the items were more suited for 3-6 months

Think the worst has to be stains on stuff. when they say the item is in good condition and theres a chocolate stain on it when you get it and no mention of it in the listing:mad:
or they say there is a mark on the front but with some vanish and a bit of elbow grease it may be removed why bother trying to sell it if the buyer has to try and remove the stain that may not be removed:confused:

I wont dream of selling something were I cant get a mark off,
  • I must admit i did sell one item that had a juice stain on it (small and so barely noticable, only in the brightest of light and i'd be surprised if anyone could see it without a light shining on it) within a bundle - and did state it too but you could remove it with vanish - the reason i did this is because mine and my daughters skin is soooo sensitive that the last time i used a scoop of vanish we both ended up itching like crazy. But then again i did state why i hadn't done so myself too.

It was a gorgeous item within a bundle and had only been worn once so i thought i'll list it as it is anyway.

But yeah i must say it does my nut when the items are the wrong sizes. I have bought a few outfits in store for my daughter and had to get a size down in the bottoms to match or something - when listing i stated this of course but all seemed ok with the buyers.

I think i write alot in my listings though so everything, no matter how minor it is gets put in there. And i would never dream of listing the wrong size labels - what fit my child at one age my not fit yours so put the label age and the customer can judge for themselves. Makes sense!
Mummy of 3 lovely munchkins :smileyhea
  • How annoying, I don't buy many clothes off ebay unless there is something in particular I am looking for.
Maybe give boot sales a try, you actually see what you are gettign and normally works out alot cheaper than ebay, when you take postage into account
  • Hubby keeps doing his 'i told you so' face when he see's i'm disappointed with items and telling me i wouldn't pay 25 quid for a bag of old used kids clothes anywhere else lol, will be sticking to only getting used clothes in charity shops from now on.
If google doesn't know it, how should i?

If you fill in item specifics you appear better in ebays new stupid search system. when you have a bundle you can only pick one size i can see how annoying it is as a buyer to get various ages because all sizes are not stated but as a seller i would want my items to show in search. I do tend to think bundles are usually the stuff not good enough to buy singly or they would have been sold that way to start with.

 what a pain that is. I bought a bundle the other week of summer clothes for DD2. I put in a search for 4-5 stuff. won a bundle I asked the buyer if i could pick it up (they lived on the way to a relatives house) so that way I had more money to bid with saving on the postage
We picked it up on they way to my aunts.
We got home and went through the bundle most of the stuff was either really small for the size or the wrong size 3-4.
When I contacted the buyer she just said that the clothes fit her daughter when she was 4 hence some of the clothes been small 4-5 and larger 3-4 year clothes.
The most of the clothes where from cherokee or primark some next. But listed mostly next items
For what I paid and a bit more i could of gone to primark and bought her new for the summer
I'm all ways having malteser moments thats me

It's for this very reason that I don't buy bundles on Ebay anymore, unless it's a bundle with a brilliant listing with everything clearly pictured and labelled. My youngest DD is 4 but wears age 5-6 clothes so if I buy a 5-6 bundle and then there's 4-5 clothes in there the clothes are no good to me.
  • i bought 5 pairs of boys shorts ages 4-5. sound they were all next looked lovely, recieved them and 2 pairs were ages 4-5 the other 3 pairs were aged 3-4.

now my 4 year old is quite tall and there was no way they were gonna fit him. i was so annoyed i emailed her and she replied saying ''im so sorry when i checked they were all 4-5'' (no they bloody werent!)

and then she refunded me the WHOLE amont!! like £8 with postage! i felt so bad i emailed saying nah thats not fair on you at all and after trying them on my son there was only the one pair that didnt fit him so i sent the whole £8 back to her.

fair play to the girl though! how nice is that?! i never could have walked away with 5 pairs of shorts without paying for em!
