Ex not paying - is there anything I can do?

Options
My ex husband and I made a number of (with hindsight!) bad financial decisions 2 years ago. Obviously we didn't realise we were going to split up, and so bought both a house and took out a large loan (£15k) for a number of reasons. The intention was that when the house was sold the loan would also be repaid.

Fast forward to now - the divorce was completed in January this year. We still have the mortgage and loan in both names. The informal agreement we made was that I live in the house but have sole responsibility for the mortgage payments, he moved out but still pays the loan payments.

I discovered he's been defaulting on the loan repayments, and had a letter through from the loan company demanding a repayment of 3 month's arrears. (He has now paid this)

I am desperately trying to sell the house, but obviously it's the wrong time for that - but until the house is sold I can't do anything about clearing the mortgage or loan. The loan amount is too high for him to transfer it into his own name. I'm worried that this is going to impact on my credit rating, which is frustrating when I've been doing everything I can to make sure I keep up all my payments on everything to not get into any more debt, and actually have a light at the end of the tunnel in terms of repaying them all.

Any ideas about what I can do, or do I just have to write it down as yet another bad decision made 2 years ago and all my hard work to improve my credit position and clear debts has been wasted?
