Budgeting

Hi,
I am new to these forums, I enjoy reading them and have been for the past couple of months.
Eventually today I finally registered and have a few questions (I hope this is in the right place)
Ok so here are my questions.
I have read about different challenges in terms of budgeting - ie the grocery challenge etc. What all challenges are on the website so I can search for them and take part.
I have also read about a spend diary and a debt diary - but cant find posts on these.
Can someone outline these and tell me what other motivational/record tools there are.
I live with my partner and our dog and we are trying to cut our spending.
We have the following:
Mortgage: £110000 and a house worth about £80k
Car loan: £8000
I am going back to study in september and therefore our income is going to reduce by approximately £12000 per year.
I would like to know of all the hints and tips on budgeting, money management etc as i no these will help keep us on track and motivate us!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

best place to post is on the debt free wannabe board
start by completing the SOA (budget) calculator

and using your september onwards income0 -
As Clapton says Debt Free Wannabe is the best place to start, both in terms of posting yourself, and reading other people's posts - it's very motivational. Also, there is a sticky in the DFW forum listing all the challenges.Debt at LBM (17/10/08) £5727.61 Debt free date 31/08/090
