The Test Case Appeal Starting 23rd June

Hi,

I have read that the test case starts next week on 23rd June but the outcome may not be known until October, whilst others say July. Does anyone know if there is an official date when the results will be published or the week beginning.....?

I am waiting on the HSBC and it would be great to get the charges back. I also have an old Lloyds account from when I was a student where charges were levied on me, can I claim these back too?

Thanks for any help!

Cheers

Nothing personal to you, as you say, it will be great to get the charges back.

I am amazed at how many people are totally convinced that they are going to get them back and are indeed relying on them. It is still very much up in the air and fortunately i am not reclaiming but there will be a lot of disappointed people if the banks win.

Not sure but i think its only charges in the last 6 years.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

If the outcome will not be known until October 2009 - one would expect the OFT to ask the FSA to extend the hardship waiver, until end of October.

You can re-claim charges going back 6 years.

The House of Lords would have to overturn one of their own decisions on that one for them to win. Furthermore, European legislation seems to be very positive.

You can claim from July 2001. There is no official date as to when the judgement will be handed down from the HoL since the case hasn't actually started. This is the preliminary issues and this is only to determine if Bank terms can be assessed for fairness under UTCCR 1999. However, the terms themselves have to be identified to determine which specific term is unfair which the OFT will do and there will be further litigation.
I have not worked for NatWest Bank since February 2009
