UPVC Door problems

I've got a UPVC door with a five point locking system
What has happened is that the points (hooks, deadlock and the other one) do not retract fully to enable the door to be opened.
I can open the door if I use a bit of force and I can close it if I slam it and can lock it ok although I assume this can't be good for the door!
Does anyone know what this is and if so how to fix it before I call a locksmith (and probably get charged a fortune) to fix it

Have you tried giving the offending pieces a good dose of WD40 ? I do my exterior doors with it eery 6 months and everything glides in and out like silk..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

This is good advice but spray lithium grease or ptfe based lubricant is much better to be used every 6 months as you say. but unfortunatly once its gone no amount of wd-40 is going to fix it.

Had mine tweaked the other day, this is what to do...
remove all the adjustments from the frame, probably worth using a felt tip pen and numbering them. Put them to one side and try and open and close the door, this should close nicely. You will notice by the lock mechanism one (the main one) there will be one that you adjust for how much you have to push your door shut. Set this one up first, it should close well with a push and when closed it should not be able to move forwards and backwards (this will make sense when you do it.) Get this one sorted first. If its not closing well at all now then you need to see if your door has dropped and adjust it up or down on the hinges. Assuming its ok, now start adding the frame mechanisms one by one testing after each install. Should you add one and then it becomes tight its probably going to need moving either up or down slightly, so try that. Just be methodical, also ensure door locks smoothly (keep keys in door incase it locks from outside). Stick with frame mechanisms first, then hinges, you really don't want to adjust any mechanisms on the door itself.0
