or I don't know if something like the following could be hooked up to your car battery without draining it (power consumption 150Ma - not got my maths brain on at moment to work out how long that would drain the average car battery). It would need to be fused on the positive wire. Plus thought would have to be made in speaker placement as this sort of sound wouldn't travel through metal panels I don't think (may go through the fabric roof enough to keep it off but I'm no expert). I would recommend asking that seller via ebay ask a seller feature as they have been particularly helpful for me and you will see they sell a range of similar products.

Super soaker, with dilute vinegar in it.
Works a treat IME.0 -
How about one of these lemon/citrus sprays that you can buy in pet shops/superstores. They're aimed at using in your home on carpets and upholstery if you want to stop your cat clawing them or going on them.
Basically, I think, it's just a water spray with a hint of lemon, so could possibly be of use as it shouldn't stain or mark.
Alternatively try a water pistol, may take a while but cats tend to eventually get the message.0 -
Isn't vinegar acidic? I would have thought it would damage the paintwork on the car. But I'll try this around the plant pots as the darn cat is digging these up too.0

Probably find that as cats are treated as feral animals it doesn't matter what you say to the owners. This is from someone who has cats, and I know that control is very limited. (and mine are house cats so don't go further than the garden)
All you can do is prevention rather than cure0 -
Get some cheap fine garden netting (couple of quid in wilko's) and put that over the car for a while. Cat's often don't like walking on netting as they tend to catch their claws - after a while it will associate the car not as a nice scratching place, but that place where it keeps getting its claws pulled.Adventure before Dementia!0

I did have something like these a few years ago but they didn't seem to work. Does anybody have any experience of these actually doing 'what they say on the can'?
I think Dave's idea is a good one ...light easy to use etc etcIt's not just about the money0 -
My mother-in-law reckons that this works well.....

You can also get an adaptor to run it off the mains rather than keep having to remember to replace the batteries every so often.
like BillTrac says, I don't think you can legally hold the owners of cats responsible for the cats actions (unlike dogs) so you're really on your own to sort this one out.0 -
Try the netting...
Or cheap car cover with powder on it.
failing that - If you have a webcam anywhere near your window.... you can download FREE programs which record things. I did this with mice in my kitchen.
It only starts to record once it detects movement - get the proof then send them a letter0
