Cleaning Patio Flags

Probably the wrong place but I'm sure a mod will shift if needs be.
I've cleaned my patio flags with a karcher but I'm left with a lot of stubborn black marks. Anyone any ideas as to how to get rid of them?

Try scrubbing one or 2 with bleach, see if that works. You need to be careful tho not to rinse the bleach onto a lawn or flowerbed.I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.0

Depends what the marks actually are, of course. As Easy said, bleach is a good general-purpose option. Jeyes fluid is also good in a lot of cases, or if it's oil then a good scrub with neat washing-up liquid can often do the job. You can buy special products for removing oil ( if that's what it is, and the previous, cheaper, options fail ).
With any of these options, I would test a small, inconspicuous area first, in case the chemical discolours the stones ( depends exactly what sort of material it's made of, slate, stone, concrete, etc. etc. ), but some materials can discolour quite easily.0 -

It's not oil as I have tried some oil remover. I'm tempted to use the bleach option. Not bothered about surrounding areas and as the rabbit pegged it on Christmas eve no problems on that front. Think I'll buy a load of cheap bleach and give it a dowsing.0 -
LOL Just purchased two mega bottles of thin bleach for 28p a piece at Asda. No doubt I'll have to buy the thicker stuff but for 10 bob it has to be worth a try.0

hi i wouldnt bother with bleach ur wasting ur money what you need is hydrocloric acid i have done my decking with it and my blockpaved driveway with it not only does it kill the moss in between the block paving it brings the paving up just like new as in a post higher up be really carefull not to get it on grass as it does kill it but then again its good for killing weeds it is also exellent for getting the brown limescale marks from under the water line of a toilet pan off far better than bleach as you can see the fallen of bits of limescale at the bottom of the pan it doesnt just bleach the colour if you go to bnq it might come under limescale remover or rust and concreate remover as it it very versitile but this works every time guarenteed0
