Cheap holiday in July

Me and my partner are looking at going away on about the 12th/13th/14th july for a week somewhere.
We have £500 in all to book a week somewhere and was wondering am i best booking something a week before the date. The reason i ask is that at the momest the best deal i can find is about £620 and i have scralled through all the websites like teletext, thomson, skytravel etc.
Am i being unrealistic or am i best to wait. We would prefer to go to one of the greek islands but if not able to we would fancy somewhere in the canary islands. Only place we dont want to go is turkey or france.
As we are a young couple we want somewhere where we can relax, but also go out and enjoy ourselves but not somewhere where there will be loads of kids getting drunk and being sick. Help!!

These dates fall at the start of the school summer holidays in some areas.
You might get a better deal if you go a bit earlier or wait until the next term starts in September.
School Holidays = peak prices I'm afraid!Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the endQuidquid Latine dictum sit altum videtur0 -
We are just back from Thassos with Thomson. There were some excellent deals there recently. (Yes I looked after I booked!)
I`ve just had another look and they have a holiday at The Hotel George in Golden beach for £270 per person for a weeks B&B. Its a gatwick flight on sunday 12th so only 5 days off needed. This might well come down a bit over the next few days.
Golden Beach is nice and quiet with Skala Potamia at the other end of a nice beach for a (bit) more exitement.
