Epson SX600FX Printer Problem...........

Hi I bought an Epson SX600FW Wifi All in one printer 8 months ago from Amazon for £100 and thought it was a pretty good deal.
Recently I switched to compatible ink which seemed to be working fine until yesterday when it stopped printing one colour.
I ran the head clean utility with no joy.
I replaced faulty colour with an orignal cartridge - no joy.
I have tried to clean the ink head by pumping cleaning fluid through it - no joy.
Can anyone advise if this is a common problem and can it be fixed?
Can an admin amend the title of thread to read Epson SX600FW please?

I'd clean the jets with IPA and a soft brush and clean the cartridge contact points with the same. Assuming it has the jets on the cartridge itself like HP printers do.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

No unfortunately not. The jets are contained in the cartridge head inside the printer.I used to be indecisive, but now I am not quite sure...........:undecided0

Pretty much all you can do as a consumer is to keep running the cleaning process, if they make them for that printer you could buy a cartridge that just has cleaning chemicals in it to flush the print head, failing that make sure that the Epson carts are installed and take it back for a new one0

I have also had same problem.
Bought Epson600FX 14 months ago and had no problems until replaced black ink T1001 cartridge. Very patchy at first in black and white and then nothing.
Also not recognising coloured cartridges in turn. Contacted Epson Support by E-chat and advised to take to Epson Repair Centre as looks like print head failure for which I will be charged.
Seems that this printer is one of the worst you can buy and I will definately be going back to HP. Not impressed that printer that cost £100 only lasted 14months and that what is obviously a poor quality designed and produced product does not have an adequate warantee from Epson.
Also very annoyed that I have just paid out £50 for a full set of Epson Ink Cartridges which might as well be chucked in the bin.
Thank you Epson for a load of expensive rubbish that wont even print on transparencies0 -

I have an Epson SX600FW. It is the worst printer that I have ever bought. I have used my printer less than ten times since I bought it. The ink cartridges that came with it ran out very quickly because the printer charges with ink and goes through a wasteful head cleaning routine.
It also does not work if any one of the cartridges runs out so unless you change it, you cannot use it. If you use compatible cartridge they are frequently not recognised even when they are brand new and so have to be changed.
It annoyingly tries to sell you Epson ink when the print monitor tell you a cartridge is running low.
Epson support is of little help, they just write telling you how it should work while not actually doing anything to help you except trying to sell their overpriced cartridges. If you buy this printer it will take your wallet and throw it in the bin.
It has been such a frustrating experience to try and make this printer work in the way it is supposed to that I have cut my losses and have bought a laser printer instead. I will never buy another Epson printer again and you should take my advice and avoid it like the plague.0 -
I totaly agree about all the negatives relating to the Epson SX600FW
I purchased a refurbished model for £74 off ebay less than 12 months ago and it only worked until the pre-installed inks ran out and now will not print anything.:(
I obtained compatible ink off ebay and have had no success at all, Mainly cartridge not recognised even when they are full!!
Gone through so many inks I have lost count. Must have done a hundred print head cleans.
My Previous Epson Stylus Color 760 was a brilliant machine, hence why I bought another Epson...
This one is destined for the bin, can anyone please recommend a sensibly priced WiFi printer that's both reliable and doesn't cost a fortune to run.0
