Still not heard anything. Although EA have rung my sister who posed as a potential buyer asking if she was still interested, they still only have 2 offers. She is waiting for them to ring back, going to ask if putting in asking price once she has ficticiously viewed it would secure it.....then we know what we need to do. Snakey gits........! (Us and EA's) Sis thinks she is Poirot now cos her detective work is paying off. :D

    Starkiller,

I don't think it sounds like EA have another offer. I think they have made it up to try to get you to increase and are now trying hard to secure a second offer. You need to up the ante - ring and ask to view another of their properties that is new on the market. Even if it's not what you are looking it will just put a bomb up their backside.

    Starkiller's sister aka Poirot here!!

Just to let people know that I am not deliberately misleading the EA, I want to help my little sis get her feet well and truly on the property ladder. If or when the EA rings back I am going to find out as much as possible and say that I will call then back and will then tell them that I am no longer interested.

Haveing bought my house 2 years ago in the notoriously shifty and sneaky Sheffield property market I have learnt the hard way about EA - though I dont want to tar them all with the same brush as some still do have a bit of integrity left. The way I see it is that I am merely helping my little sis to play them at their own game - hopefully it'll work as the house is wicked!

We got it.....! Dead dead happy, think the estate agents were playing us, but hey we got the house we have been looking for for months now, so happy I nearly crashed the car when OH rang me to tell me. Not in a chain either, so hopefully things will move rapidly......quite scary actually, but so so happy! :T :T :T :T

Great news. Out of curiosity did you have to up your offer?

Yes to £164 but we were prepared to go to this to get it anyway. I can see me and the OH growing old there together :p and having lots of kids to run around the big garden. :rotfl:
