Pasport advice needed

Hi not sure if this right place to post this but am at a loss as have searched the internet and cant find an answer! My partners ex is renewing their sons passport and is asking for all his personal details off his passport such as passport number etc. Just wanted to check this was right as there have been problems in the past. He has offered to fill the form in but she wants him to text her the details today. He is named on the birth certificate and has regular contact. Any help would be much appreciated.

If your partner's ex is applying for a passport for thier child she/he will need the passport details of both parents. It's part of the standard form you need to fill in.

why not just get a copy of a passport application form and see exactly what she needs if you're unsure?

Your partner should phone passport officehelpline , I did not speak to my ex for 11 years and when I did my kids RENEWALS I did not need this info as it was on first application. the form is a standard form and asks for this info but may not be needed if it is renewal.

If new application they will be looking this infor to prove child is british but if it cannot eb proved through father I thikn theyc an use mothers details, there are lots of peple out there who even though the fathers name os on birth certificate teh mother may not have anycontatc with father or know where he is to get this info. It just makes it easier but can be done without it.

    Give passport helpline a ring.

For passport renewals you actually need to send the original passport in the post to them, so she will need this when sending off the application. If this is going to cause problems then I would suggest sending the application and passport off yourselves.

    I hope this helps.

you don't need to put the fathers passport details on..

What i mean is my ex doesn't have a passport so i couldn't put the details down, i had no repercussions, i don't have his address etc etc i don't have much information about him now, the only thing i had was at Christmas going through customs me n oh were asked who was responsible for the child, i said me, I'm his mum and that was it, (i took my maiden name and he kept his fathers surname)
Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?
