And Yes we are being ripped off
How does a large number of companies result in us being ripped off? Surely that would only happen if there was a lack of choice and competition?

Whilst I'm here, does anyone know how to add specific posters to your ignore list?

It's just I don't understand why big insurance companys spread them selves out with lots of different names. Why don't they stick to one overall brand name instead of baffling us with multiple choice names from the same company. It would be cheaper for them to run and so in turn should cut the cost of our sky high insurance. It is the same for car/house in fact any insurance.

    One reason
    - this way the same "group" can enjoy the profits of selling to the "Sheila's wheels" and the "over xx of age?" crowd without the two groups tripping over each other in the doorway.

I wouldn't regard my house or car insurance as "sky high".
