Is it possible to use Google maps as a Sat Nav on my phone?
[SIZE=-1]To equate judgement and wisdom with occupation is at best . . . insulting.

potentially yes, but you wont have turn by turn instructions, youd have to look at the screen for info.
also it would cost a bundle in data charges, and your phone needs a gps chip, so you'd probably be better off just buying tomtom or garmin for your phone anyway....Surely the answer is 'no' regardless of what phone it is, as far as I am aware it doesn't offer satnav services other than giving a list of directions at the start of the trip?
loads of phones have GPS chips in them these days, iphone, nearly every htc phone, n95/96, etc and even if they are not most should be able to connect to a £30 bluetooth gps reciever anyway0 -

I know they do, indeed my phone does. I don't see your point as Google Maps does NOT offer satnav facilities other than turn by turn directions at the start of the trip, nor does it offer voice guidance. Infact that doesn't even use the GPS, it connects online and downloads the directions between point A and point B.0 -
google maps mobile has GPS intergration, it will place you location on the map and update your location every second or so, it also auto scrolls the map.
The planned route is also displayed on the map with a marked line.
its not too bad if your on foot, but its probably not good if your driving (no voice, no auto recalculation etc, data charges).0 -
locates using the nearest mobile mast , so in my case shows me about half a mile away
