Problem with my washing machine

Hi
Just put a washing in recently and now there is a problem.
Looked at my manual and the descriptionon the troubleshooting page reads as this - the on-off/door lock led flashes rapidly at the same time as two other leds (a lot more better put than I could have written, lol). I have did as the manual said and switched machine off and waited and then reconnected plug, switched machine back on, and tried again, worked for a few minutes and then the same problem reappeared.
I am just looking for some advice as to what the problem is? Likelihood of machine being able to be fixed? Rough cost?
The machine I have is an Indesit WIL163 and have had it since July 2006.
Thanks

Does anyone know anything about this?
I have never had any problems with appliances so would not even be sure who I should phone0 -
Hmm, I'm afraid I can't offer any definite advice, but a quick Google turned this up :

Don't know if this helps at all ?
Aside from that, a common problem with many washing machines is either the water inlet or else the waste water drain hose may be blocked / kinked - particularly if it's been slid underneath a worktop. Check to see that water is flowing into the machine correctly ( check that the hose is not kinked, and there's also usually a little filter where the inlet hose screws into the back of the machine - give this a clean out ). Likewise, check that the drain hose is not kinked, and has no blockages. Most machines can detect a problem with inlet and drain, and will give an error code.
If that doesn't help, then spend a bit of time on Google to see if you can find any information. Failing that, you'll probably have to call "a man" in.0 -
Thanks very much Ebe Scrooge :cheesy:0

The door on my Hotpoint washing WT960 machine which is just about 2 years old will not open. I believe this is due to a defective handle the handle is loose. I have opened the washing machine from the top but still cannot see how to get access to release the lock. Truth is that there may have been an easier way but I do not really have a clue and I am loathe to spend £104 that I have been quoted to have a service engineer out. Sadly I still have have some washed clothing in there which will start smelling if I have not continued to wash it every so often. Any help will be most gratefully received, including a recommendation to use a good reliable person who will not charge me a fortune to fix.Do you make things happen, watch things happen, or just wonder, what happened?0
