AHHHH!Scottish power & meter change!

Hi,

Just need to vent!

We had our electric meter changed in March (part of a programme to update them) and the man kindly changed it from a two rate to a one rate cos we don't use much in cheap hours.

However! I have contacted Scottish Power to say they haven't updated the details STILL and I can't input my readings online cos it is still the wrong meter with the wrong serial number and two rates!!!

Ahhhhhh!!!!!!! Just emailed them AGAIN cos they have requested meter readings and I CAN'T put them in.:mad::mad::mad::mad:

Can't you just call them and give them your read and maybe ask them at the same time if they can update your meter details?
  • Hi,

Cos we are online customers -not sure!
Looked for phone numbers and they are only open certain hours.
    Plus 0845 number of course!

Can't phone normal automated meter read cos we have a completely different meter :(

If it was a routine meter change the lad changing the meter should have changed the meter like for like, i.e. you had an Eco7 meter - he fits an Eco7 meter. If you did not phone up and ask for a tariff change to single rate prior to the work beng done it should come as no surprise that you are still on the system as an Eco7 user.

That said SP should have a record of the job done, and the meter worker who did it, reckon he'll get a slapped wrist for not fitting the correct meter type.

We are with Scottish Power and had our meter changed in May. Like you, when I tried to put in my readings online at the end of May it wouldn't accept them.

Don't know why you are having problem contacting them though. When you log in, there is a 'contact' button on the website where you can select the option to contact them by e-mail and a form appears on screen to be completed and sent away. I did this, explaining I couldn't enter readings and got a reply saying that meter change information took around 45 days to appear on the system and after this time I could enter readings as usual.
  • Hi Be Happy,

I got the same message but it was changed in March and it still hasn't been updated!

Thanks dunloadin, I hope he doesn't get a slapped wrist-maybe that's why it has not been updated he thought he'd keep it quite??lol;)
