Redundancy insurance help

Options
I am considering taking out insyrance against redundancy as I work as an electrician and our trade is being hit quite badly at present. My boss hasn't mentioned redundancies yet but we have been quiet for months and it is only a matter of time and I am the second to last member of staff taken on 20 months ago.

I don't know which companies to try or indeed what I should be looking for so can anyone please help?

Thanks

Ring up local Independent Financial Advisors and talk to them, they will probably arrange a meeting face to face and point you in the right direction.

You have to get what’s right from day one, and not be saddled with a potential useless piece of paper masquerading as a Insurance Policy.

Make sure you use a broker who deals with several providers. Many IFA's only use one or a couple of insurers for this type of cover. You will also find that policies vary with the initial exclusion period (ie from start date of policy) such as 60/90/120 days.

Also, although the vast majority have withdrawn unemployment only contracts, there are still some out there. Unless of course you have a need for the accident / sickness element.

Thanks guys. Presumeably it is worth staying away from policies that can be bought on the web then?

Well now I would put effort into having the right policy for the cover required, and look towards having that policy provided by a “reputable and fair” IC, if there is such a thing.

If you go through a Broker or IFA I would suggest a local one and see what they have to say about help in the event of a claim, as that’s when you find out if your policy is toilet paper or not.
Face-face, Quality & Content, support “if” a claim and price last (within reason)
