Minibus Hire

Hi, Im looking at hiring a minibus in the south derbyshire area for the last weekend in July.
I've tried a few local ones who are fully booked and read on here earlier that councils sometimes let out theirs, so ive sent an email and will hopfully get a reply tomorrow.

Does anyone know any other places to try? A quote from a nationwide company was nearly £500 which is rather expensive.

Thanks in advance

there seems to be a real shortage of minibuses this month have been trying to book a couple for work and everywhere is booked solid,i am not sure about local councils hiring you a bus as this may mean you will need a pcv liscence,

Also I've noticed, some companies say you need to have passed your driving test before 1997 and others say you just have to be ove 25.
The law confirms the latter, so is it just their choice of what they do for insurance purposes etc?

the age thing will be insurance company specific ,the 1997 rule is regarding d1(minibus ) entitlement on your liscence, but you can take this test anytime you will just have to produce your liscence to prove entitlement
