Promotional Interest Rate Removed

Hi there,
The manager has refunded the interested payment from this month and said he will do the same for next month while I consider my options. I put my account back in credit within 5 days of going over limit once I realised what had happened, so I was very quick to react. However I do take your points regarding the breach of contract. I am also not trying to shift the entire responsiblity to the CC company, I am also at fault, but I feel some of it is down to the way they authorise payments without checking available credit. My wife is in the doghouse over this as she actually used the card in error on a website, as it was the saved card....
Thank you.0 -

Yes, they have no legal obligation to do so, but it's simple customer service. If the OP has managed his account well in the past and given a good amount of custom to the CC company it would be nice if they showed a bit of appreciation.
Late payments is a mistake, an easy oversight. Management of the account (ie. credit limit) is a fundamental aspect of what the card company believes is the proper way to operate the card is treated as a bigger issue (they have to be responsible lenders now).
So anything that shoots over the limit, and to me £40 is too much of a step over to plead blind ignorance to the situation, so i don't know exactly why the card company should offer appreciation for someone who doesn't show appreciation to the limit they set. I don't mean to sound harsh, just trying to be objective.0 -
I agree, but the OP is talking about making a written complaint. This is different to asking for a bit of leeway.oceanscape wrote: » Get over yourself. Yes complaint was the wrong word, I am writing a letter to appeal to their better nature from a customer service perspective.0
