Social tariffs & chronic illnesses list is where ?????

I would have thought that each supplier has their own criteria for their tariffs.
Or why not call your chosen supplier and ask them whatever illness it is you want to find out about?0 -
Call and ask your supplier to speak to someone about their social tariff. Just remember the normal customer service staff probably won't have the training or authority to give you any advice.
Don't volunteer info, wait to be asked.....
normally it's interlinked with being eligible for some for of benefits, me, I'd just google it. eg
"EDF social tariff", once you've got their rates, look at the ONLINE tariffs available from all the companies, enter your usage, not how much you pay to get the most accurate results.0 -
Apologies to the reply posters but to keep it concise, I didn't elaborate. In the interests of fairness and openness, I don't see why "chronically sick" information is not available on suppliers websites (apart from they would lose revenue). In addition, other annoying aspects of the social tariff are missing until you contact them:
Scottish and Southern Energy say they can't put social tariff prices on their website as the 'industry is not allowed to use social tariffs as a means of selling their services'. Social tariff Energyplus care is 20% off energy but not the standing charge and they accept anyone who spends 10% of income on energy. But, they state "the government say that each person should be entitled to an income of £5k PA" and only accept you once you have participated in a benefit check.
EDF recently increased their social tariff Energy assist by reducing the discount from 15% to 5%.
Npower stopped taking customers onto their social tariff spreading warmth in March due to 'demand'.
British gas won't give out essentials tariff unless they determine you qualify.0
