Some inspiration please!

Hello

I'm looking for somewhere for me, OH and DSD (8yo) to go in the summer hols. Have looked at camping possibly in Northen Spain or maybe south or west of France.
Ferry to Santander is unbelievably expensive :eek: and Eurocamp / Keycamp places in France look pretty obscene!

Although we'd consider the UK, having spent a very wet week camping in Newquay last summer it would be nice to at least up the chances of some sunshine!

We could always book a package in Spain or somewhere I suppose..wouldn't be the first choice though.

So....we are:

Happy to camp (with or without own camping gear)
Happy to drive
Happy to organise different parts of the holiday ourselves which we've done further afield

We just want a decent week or two away with something for us all to do (although give me a beach and some sun and we're all well entertained!) and if it could be away from tacky Brit type resorts (I'm no snob - I worked and lived in Playa de las Americas when I was younger!) then all the better.

Should have really mentioned...trying to do it all on a bit of a budget...don't want much do I?

Where abouts are you. If you are anywhere near Bristol or Luton, Ryanair has been doing very reasonable flights to Beziers. We have a villa near there and although we are fully booked for the summer months I've just checked and some of our neighbours still have availability in July. Our village is only about 4 miles from the airport and 1.5 miles to the beach and 6 miles to the main town of Beziers. If you're interested PM me and I'll give you details of neighbouring villas.

Just checked and Ryanair are doing flights from Bristol to Beziers for £6.70 each way if you book by 18th June.

Hi Francophile - thanks for the quick reply. We're actually up North with easy access to Manchester, Leeds bradford, East Mids airports.
Beziers looks lovely! Off to see if we can get a flight first xx

OK so Bristol or Luton it is! Luton wouldn't be too bad though.
When abouts in July? Holidays start on July 18th.

There are also some cheap flights to Rimini from East Mids - any ideas for there / near there?

Have you thought about a villa holiday? It sounds expensive but most of the time it works out much cheaper than a package/hotel holiday. James Villas always have good last minute deals.

I can get decent flights to Beziers from 15th-22nd July - unfortunately this is Wed-Wed which doesn't suit a lot of the accomodation we've seen.
Does anyone know any decent campsites in the area or any ideas for other types of accom that might be available?

We also have the option to go 22nd-29th August - would we still expect get nice weather at this time?
