credit card cheques, why do credit card companies charge for these ?

anyway onto the origial question, i have been rejected by egg ! and rejected by hsbc and i have applied for mnba although seein the complaints on this board about the latest changes that was probably a bad move can anyone recommend any good creidt card cheque cards.

im considering minty and marbles but im tryin to limit my applications/rejections to 2 a month.

I would imagine the main reason is because the credit card company don't get a merchant fee off them - if you use your card to pay for goods the retailer is charged a fee. If you pay by credit card cheque, the retailer doesn't pay a fee.

As regards your rejections, I certainly wouldn't apply for any more cards until you know why you're getting rejected. You need to get hold of your credit reports.

Precisely. As they don't make any money on this deployment, they treat it akin to a cash transfer, and charge you fees as well as a higher interest rate in most cases.
