Slow draining bathtub

Just done this yesterday I got some unblocker think it was on offer at Sainsburys this week for shower tray. I left it for around 45 minutes and then just swilled any remainder down0

Just a word of caution about sticking things down the plughole. Flexible plumbing pipes and Hepvo valves are being used more and more, Unlike solid walled plumbing this can be easily punctured if treated roughly. I would do as others suggest and use a plunger.0

had this problem recently, tried the gel cleaners, plunging, caustic soda, more plunging, eventually an ice pole wrapper popped out of the sink over flow while hubby was violently plunging the bath! Seems the kids had done it last summer and it took til now to cause a problem!
Kids were told off very muchly!0 -

If it's likely to be hair (I often have this problem!) then get yourself some cheap hair removing cream-veet or nair-and squeeze into the plug hole. Leave for a couple of hours and then run the hot water tap, usually does the trick for me and smells nicer than the Mr Musclle type stuffRemember to always be yourself-unless you suck. Joss Whedon0

Don't use a plunger unless you're sure that any caustic soda you've already poured into the drain has gone or you could end up being splashed with caustic (the liquid splashes up into the sink as you work the plunger).0

As a fellow plumber may i ask why you dont/wont use chemical such as acids?
A quick dose of Acids can get thro the thickest of chokes, where as jetting, rodding would cost more in labour...Not a critisim just interested in why
ThanksHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure0
