You can't attach files directly but you can put it on a file-sharing/FTP site and let people download it from there.

Thanks. You wouldn't happen to know of one, would you?

Dead easy. click on "Add files to Upload", browse to your spreadsheet.
Whack in a nickname (anything you like), select the "general" category, agree to the TOS and hit the "Upload" button. When its done, cut and paste the link it gives youy back into this post. HTH.

I've knocked together a spreadsheet which attempts to calculate whether buying a house makes financial sense. It takes account of: your budget (initial and monthly); mortage, solicitors and other fees (including the cost of remortgaging on a regular basis); insurance and maintenance; rental costs; inflation; extra commuting costs that might result. You specify the timeframe and the spreadsheet tells you how much better/worse off you would be in various house price inflation scenarios. You can find it at: http://www.mediafire.com/?dydemz9nngg If any of you do try it, I'd be grateful for suggestions for improvements. Thanks.
EDIT: I've now moved this message to a new thread at http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/...3#post10062823
  • Interesting. Whilst I can broadly tally with the figures on the Parameters and comparison worksheet (excepting row 47 and 58 data), I find the Savings worksheet to be complete fiction, or at least I shouldn't ever bother buying!

I need to examine the worksheet formulas some more before I can determine why I appear to be looking at anomolies here. Good effort though.

Edit. I can see now that it obviously include the initial "lump sum" from cell B4 so yes it is quiet good.

Please help! We are in the process of applying for a mortgage to self build. I have been in contact with Buildstore who have offered us , in principal, a mortgage with Accord, but are we doing the right thing? We do not know who else to ask, and we are worried about the cost of the build going over budget too. We are lucky to have been given land, which we have obtained outline planning consent on. Can u offer us any advice?
