Work focused interview for 'income support'??
Comments
-
1) IS may be paying the benefit but the underlying entitlement is IB (which will be paying NI only)
2) An initial WFI (work focused interview) is booked & then another 5 interviews must be attended approx 1 month apart.
3) How are you? How are things? What help would you like? (No hard sell... I promise (unless it's provider-led pathways but that's a different topic altogether!)
4) No-one can force her into work - the only compulsory thing is to attend & participate (i.e. nod in all the right places!)
5) If she MUST attend these interviews, no-thing you can say will stop that - they are mandatory by law.
6) Nothing needs to be taken - the JC advisors are not checking the severity of her condition.. that is for doctor's to do....
Am I assuming that this interview booked is for a new claim????
actually it is for a claim that she has been on for 2 years, so she is on a long lasting claim. (Both dla + IS has been given for 2 years that is)
Does the fact that they have been on it for 2 years have any affect on these interviews in anyway? if so what?
or does her being on it for 2 years make it easier to get out of the interviews?
or anything ?No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30 -
Ah.. that changes things a bit!!
She's probably been called in for a '3 year trigger' appt - she won't be required to attend any more interviews after this one for another 3 years or if she passes another medical (whichever is sooner)...
Nothing to worry about - it's just a routine that she MUST attend....
The DLA & PCA exempt rules don't apply as it's an older claim...
Hope this helps!Oops!! Should I have posted this??? Some users don't think I shouldn't be offering advice due to my occupation!!!0 -

3 year trigger appointment? even thought the letter says
"your appointment details for your work focused interview" ?
can i still tell them shes on higher rate care? and be exempt for it, now that shes been on it for 2+ years? No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30 -
Yeah yeah.. sorry...! 3 year trigger is just JC speak..!!
It is still a WFI (work focused interview) &, yes, once again... your cousin MUST attend.
As previously mentioned several times.. she is NOT exempt & no amout of you telling 'them' will make a difference.
At the end of the day, it is only once every few years - and your cousin may be pleasantly suprised as there's a lot of help to be offered..Oops!! Should I have posted this??? Some users don't think I shouldn't be offering advice due to my occupation!!!0 -

so the fact that she has been on it for Dla higher care, and IS for both over 2+ years means that this Work forcused interview is now only every 3 years now?
whereas if she was on it for 7 weeks, then she would have to attend these WF intervies every 3 months, more frequently ?
please can you clarify that... Thanks SharskiNo Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30 -
Certainly, Danny G!!
If someone makes a new claim to ESA or IB (due to a linking period) then they will have to attend an inital WFI & then 5 repeat WFIs - all approx 1 month apart.
After this, they only have to attend every three years or if they pass a medical (whichever is soonest!)...Oops!! Should I have posted this??? Some users don't think I shouldn't be offering advice due to my occupation!!!0 -
The interview is SOON- so can you please answer these questions- would really appreciate it......
a) What do they ask at these interviews?
b)-how many questions do they ask?
c) can you list all the the types of questions they are most likley to ask,
d) and how long does the interview last?
e)+ if you cant make this interview, how many weeks approx is it until the next date they give? (I know this depends how busy they are, but usually how far are they away) ?
-the reason asking being its always nice to know what kinda things are expected to be asked in interviews in advance- so would appreciate the help thanks.
please get back people with a reply.... i really appreciate it.....I would just like to prepare here a bit, and there isnt much time left, so please reply answering the above questions... thanks. No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30 -
