As you can see im still having trouble with this courgette, till a couple of days ago it seemed quite healthy there where a couple of discoloured leaves but nothing i was worried about i thought they'd got bruised or something.

However in the last couple of day's it really seems to have taken a turn for the worst, i gave it a good feed last week with some tomato feed any idea's??

Is it in the ground in free draining soil. I have had problems with courgettes getting waterlogged.

It's in a pot, but it seems to drain pretty well.

Are you watering from the top, or is it in a saucer? I think it could be just the water running away - and scorching the leaves as you leave the water on it.

What are the new leaves like? Green and new ones every few days is good.

How big is the pot? Bigger is better.

You should feed with tom food only once the courgettes are up and running.....and older leaves just take them off once they look a bit dry. If the new leaves are coming and green, then it is still healthy enough to make new courgettes.

Courgette leaves get all manner of problems, the main issue is the new ones and the fruits.

It's not really been sunny enough for sun scorch i wouldn't have thought:confused:

tbh i havn't watered it in quite a few days since before it took a turn for the worst because we've had a fair bit of rain and it's really not needed it.

It is trying to produce fruit but they are just rotting off whist my green courgette's are going great guns and i expect my first harvest of green courgette's in the next couple of days.

It could possibly be over fed i guess i wasn't sure how much to give it  so it's had a good couple of feeds ill ease off the feed and see how it go's.

Right now it's in a 14" pot which i think should be big enough?

Have you got anywhere in the ground to put it?

Has it got male and female flowers growing?

Have you got a saucer under the pot to catch the water/food or does it just drain out?

I have got various yellow courgettes in the ground - weeks older than the green ones, but the yellow ones have produces matchstick sized courgettes whilst the green ones we have picked small and they have been 3 times the size. Still small - so I pick the small ones off so that it puts the energy into the next batch. Still not had any yellows worth talking about yet.

It is still very early for decent sized esp yellow courgettes.

Also, now is the time to sow another set of seeds to replace the plants you have now, later in the season.

Tbh looking at it this morning im not sure there is much hope for it :( im not overly concerned i bought it on a whim at the garden centre reduced because it was pot bound if it end's up dying then so be it.

Only ground space i have left atm is in a quite shaded raised bed, but im not sure it would get enough sun there. Tbh i just wish this rain would let up and the sun would come out because im sure the weather of the last few days isn't helping.

It does have both male and female flowers growing but the fruit isn't really amounting to anything it's just rotting off, would it be an idea to cut it all off see if i can get it to put it's energy into some new green growth?? I cut some of the worst leaves off yesterday so it wouldn't waste energy on them but i couldn't cut off all the effected leaves as that wouldn't leave much plant left at all.
