Does Claiming JSA affect Tax Credits

I wonder if someone could help me please.
I am currently a full-time PGDE student. The course has now stopped for the Summer, however I need to return end August to complete a 6 week placement. Thereafter I will be eligible for supply work.
I have a husband who works full-time [salary £28000] and 3 children: one of which is in full time child care and the other two before and after school child care.
I do not receive help with child care as I do not work 16 hours however I do receive approx £40 per week Tax Credits (not sure the element).
If I claim for JSA (approx £60 per week) will this affect Tax Credits and if so, in what way.
Any help would be appreciated

You will be entitled to your student exemption from the council tax over the summer but nothing else, I'm afraid.
Cheers for this
However, when I was speaking to the guy from the job centre the other day he seemed to think that I was entitled to claim as I was available for full time employment for 7 weeks.0 -
Even if you claimed you wouldnt be awarded anything due to the level of your partner's income.0

Put your claim in. You have a right to claim JSA. Even if you don't receive any benefit your Natrional Insurance stamp will be paid.0
