In that scenario 90% of banks would refund the fees, increase your overdraft for a month and settle back when you get paid.
That's what mine did when my pay date got changed from 15th to 29th. It only took one phone call. If you run your account normally, i'm sure yours would do the same.
It is the scenario where people are claiming for charges, because they didn't check a statement, or spent the money (that isn't their own) and now whinging for a refund that I find unacceptable.
People should take responsibility for their own actions. Banks advise their charges upfront. If you don't wanna pay, you know what to do...0 -
I got my £30 back off Barclays.
Wrote to them with standard letter, they replied, trying to pull the wool over my eyes, but we got there and 3 days later, was refunded the full amount."I did then, what I knew then. And when I knew better, I did better"0 -
In all the excitement I've completley c*cked up my dates and have gone from the date of issue rather than the date of being served, so the final date is actually the 8th April for them to enter their defence and to acknowledge my second claim re CC charges. *blush* and grrrr!
I've completely edited this post so if you read it before you're not going mad... but I think I am!
Lotta"One hundred years from now, it will not matter what my bank account was, how big my house was, or what kind of car I drove. But the world may be a little better, because I was important in the life of a child."0 -
was just wondering if i could apply to have my fees and charges returned to me. I was with the Halifax and know that they charged me for being overdrawn, and for missed direct debits. is this was u can claim for?
How do i go about finding how much it may be?
Sorry for being a bit of a dunce today
Many thanks0 -

Surely, this rule only works when your bank will allow you to extend your overdraft. Mine wouldnt. Makes you think that they wanty to charge you really doesnt it? Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

This Ive come to know...

Hi I am hoping to reclaim my bank charges from the last 6 years but I just have a few questions if any one can help.
Just so i know what i can reclaim.
Can i reclaim the following?:
Current Accounts:
Charges for going over overdraft limit?
Charges for unpaid items ie cheque, direct debits etc?
Admin fees For sending me letters?
Anything else I can get them for???
Credit Cards:
Late payment fee?
Cash withdrawl fee?
Credit card cheque fee? (this was £20 for every cheque I used with the credit card)
Over Limit fee?
Anything else??
And can I also reclaim from catalogues and the like?
Thanks in advance for any help with this guys.

You really need to go to the Bank Action group with these questions. Its a legal minefield from what I can tell, and I reckon they will know better than us. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? I hope this is in the right section. I need approx 6 months of copy cc statements from the Co-op. Not approached them yet but I've been told they charge £10 per statement. Is this legal? I was wondering if it would come under 'illegal' bank charges. TIA!I spelt my username wrongly on purpose, by the way!0

Hi
I wrote to Nationwide asking for copies of statements. Got them end of last week, no fuss, no questions, no cost - really helpful. Just need to write letter detailing charges they have taken, and i would like back.
Abbey on the other hand have been their usual cr*p selves!!! Wrote on 3 March - heard nothing, and they reckon they didn't receive letter  Decided i am now going to go down the route of someone else on another thread and go and hand letter in at branch and ask for receipt to show they recieved it in person.
Good luck everyone.
LWhat's he building in there???
