selfemployed redundancy pay

hi
i work for a company that has just told me my job is at risk
when i started to work for this company i was selfemployed and without break in the employment
would this count as continuous employment:confused:

    Look at your written particulars of employment which should have been given to you within two months of your starting as an employee. If it says your employment is continuous from an earlier date (when you say you were self-employed), then that will be your start date.

    Did the nature of your work for the company change when you became an employee? If it didn't perhaps you could claim that you had not been self-employed at all and therefore your continuous service should be back-dated.

    When did you begin the self-employment with them? When did you become an employee?

    Legally, no it doesnt.

    However, it's up to you and the company to negotiate that. You never know, they may agree.
