Egg Card confusion

Options
I have applied for the new 9 month offer on the Egg card. However, I don't fully understand the terms now I read them.

On the one hand it says

"Great rate on balance transfers until 1 September 2005  Customers who open a new account from 16 December 2004 to 31 January 2005 will pay a monthly rate of 0% interest until 1 September 2005 on balance transfers made before 1 September 2005."

but then further down the page it says

"Anniversary offer  Around the anniversary of when you opened your account you'll get 0% interest fixed for up to five months on balance transfers made in the month of your anniversary. And you can expect this same offer every year until 2006."

so I get 9 months with which to make a BT but at the same time I get 5?

???

Do I take this to mean that I can do SBT's up until Sept 05 and then in December 05 I can do SBT's all that month and they will incur 0% for the following 5 months until May 06?

  • Yes :)
  • so all I need to do is perform a BT off egg to another card between Sept 05 and Dec05 and then back again

    Sounds good to me :D

Guess this also means you can use egg as your routing card throughout, but can keep it in Dr balance only till September 2005, after which you can still do SBTs, but by putting your egg into Cr balance from the source credit card, and then transferring the credit balance from the egg card onto your current account???
